SEMICON Europa 2025 (18–21 November, Munich, Germany) markedFOCAL’s first major opportunity to present the project to a wider audience. FOCAL was represented alongside other EU‑funded initiatives at the EU Innovation Cluster, engaging with visitors and sharing insights into the project’s objectives and vision.
SEMICON Europa 2025 brought together more than 47,000 visitors, 237 speakers, and 720 exhibitors from across the electronics design and manufacturing supply chain, showcasing the latest trends and developments in key semiconductor growth segments.
Beyond the exhibition, FOCAL was also featured at the TechARENA, the show’s open innovation and strategy stage. Project Coordinator Angelos Marnerides, Assistant Professor at the University of Cyprus, delivered a presentation titled “Towards Quantum‑Ready End‑to‑End Security and Resilience for Critical Infrastructures,” outlining the project’s approach and ambitions. He spoke about the rising challenge of quantum cyberattacks and shared a first sneak peek of FOCAL EU, which will bring crypto-agility to next-generation edge making them resilient against advanced quantum-capable attackers.
During a short booth interview, Angelos Marnerides further introduced FOCAL’s scope and vision, summarized the project’s work packages and leadership, and highlighted the high‑impact use cases led by FOCAL’s industry partners.
